Our team is growing
The Climate Breakthrough Project is hiring for two new positions: an Impact & Learning Manager and a Communications Officer. For more information, please read the full job descriptions below. We welcome your inquiries and/or referrals for both positions. You can contact us or our search partner, Eileen Ashton, at email@example.com.
Impact & Learning Manager
The Impact & Learning Manager will design and oversee a monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) practice as innovative as the awardees we support. We view MEL as a tool that helps advance our awardees’ strategies more effectively; cultivates their aptitude to learn, adapt, and pivot when needed; and strengthens their ability to secure future funding commitments. Our overall vision is to foster a culture of creative, evidence-based learning that equips Climate Breakthrough Awardees to achieve significant and innovative advances in addressing climate change.
The Impact & Learning Manager will guide and oversee all aspects of our MEL efforts to ensure our focus is on high-impact opportunities to address the climate crisis. This role requires a creative and incisive evaluation strategist who is comfortable designing MEL frameworks for complex, non-linear strategies where emissions reduction is the ultimate goal, but tonnes can rarely be measured year over year.

The Communications Officer will be responsible for implementing our communication strategy, producing content across all communications channels, and seeking out opportunities to support our awardees and their work through traditional media, online channels, and events. The Communications Officer will also help expand the presence of the organization itself — coordinating communications around awardee announcements, amplifying our message in philanthropy-focused media, and managing communications for virtual and in-person events.
We are looking for a storyteller who is as comfortable pitching a story as they are writing video scripts or managing a webinar. Previous experience working internationally or on a global team is essential for this role, as is a deep respect for lived experience. And while subject matter expertise in climate change is not required, being conversant in environmental advocacy, climate justice, and climate policy issues is valuable for this position.
